Job summary

Emerald Care Center Claremore is seeking a Wound Care/Infection Control Nurse to join our Nursing team in Claremore, OK. This full-time, Monday–Friday position focuses on wound care management and infection prevention with strong collaboration among physicians and nursing staff.

The role requires RN or LPN licensure, WCC and IP certifications (or willingness to obtain within 30 days), and at least 2 years of wound care experience in a healthcare setting. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a valid state nursing license.
• Wound Care Certification (WCC) and Infection Preventionist (IP) certification required; willing to obtain within 30 days if not certified.
• Minimum of 2 years of wound care experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan individualized wound care/infection prevention for residents.
• Administer wound care treatments and maintain infection control practices.
• Lead infection surveillance and report findings to the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to coordinate care and educate staff on wound care and prevention.
• Monitor and document wound healing and condition changes; maintain compliant records.
• Educate residents and families on wound care and prevention procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives relating to wound care and infection prevention.
• Respond to urgent wound care needs and manage complex cases with the healthcare team.
