Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Wound Care Clinician II to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on the assessment, treatment, and ostomy education for patients with acute or chronic wounds.

Must hold a valid BCLS and Georgia licensure in nursing, PT, or OT, with one of several wound-care certifications. Requires 2 years of clinical experience or completion of a wound care residency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school in Nursing, Physical Therapy, or Occupational Therapy.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Two years of clinical wound-care experience or completion of an approved Wound Care/Ostomy residency.
• BCLS certification required at hire and Georgia licensure in RN/PT/OT.
• Active status in one of CWON/CWCA/CWS/CWCN/CWOCN/CWOCN or OMS certifications is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with acute or chronic wounds and ostomy management.
• Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and staff to plan and perform patient care.
• Educate patients on wound care, skin care, and continence management.

Required Hours: Day shift, scheduled days are variable, may have some regular weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

Certified Clinician responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients, specifically those with acute and/or chronic wounds, ostomy management and education as well as management of fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues. Works in conjunction with physicians, nursing staff and ancillary staff to evaluate, propose, plan and perform patient assessment and treatments.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school in the field of Nursing, Physical Therapy, or Occupational Therapy Required
• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree Preferred

Work Experience

• 2 years of clinical experience unless completion of an approved Wound Care/Ostomy residency program Required
• Experience working in research, analysis of data, and editing collateral Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• One of the following certifications active and in good standing with their respective board Required
• APTA - Physical Therapy APTA Required or
• CWON - Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse CWON Required or
• CWCA - Certified Wound Associate CWCA Required or

• Current licensure in the State of Georgia as one of the following: Upon Hire Required and

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Registered Nurse Required or
• OT - Occupational Therapist - Registered Occupational Therapist Required and
