Job summary

Gospel Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Worship Pastor to shepherd the congregation through worship, lead and develop worship teams, and plan services in collaboration with church leadership.

The role emphasizes biblically faithful, engaging worship, pastoral care for volunteers, and unity within the church body, with a focus on Christ-centered experiences.

Qualifications

• Meets biblical qualifications as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, & 1 Peter 5:1-3.
• Growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with church values and statement of faith.
• Desires to develop, lead, and facilitate the worship ministry; 1-3 years experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sunday morning worship and any other special service.
• Lead worship with reverence, passion, and excellence.
• Organize, attend, and lead worship rehearsals.
• Lead the church in singing biblically accurate, congregational songs from sound songwriters, bands, or churches.
• Work with the Senior Pastor and staff to shepherd the church.
• Assist the Senior Pastor with developing and implementing the vision and direction of the church.
• Have a servant's heart to help serve in other capacities as able.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

A Worship Pastor at Gospel Baptist Church is a spiritual leader who shepherds the congregation through worship, helping people encounter God and respond to Him through music, prayer, Scripture, and other elements of worship services. He leads and develops worship teams, plans services in coordination with church leadership, and seeks to create Christ-centered worship experiences that are biblically faithful, engaging, and focused on glorifying God. Beyond music, a Worship Pastor serves as a pastor to volunteers and church members, fostering spiritual growth, discipleship, and unity within the church body.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Meets the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, & 1 Peter 5:1-3.
• Have a growing relationship with Jesus.
• Agrees with our church's purpose, mission, values, and statement of faith.
• Desires to develop, lead, and facilitate the worship ministry.
• 1-3 years of some kind of experience preferred but not required.

SKILLS

• High emotional intelligence and strong work ethic.
• Leadership abilities to manage leaders, volunteers, and staff members
• Coordinate and manage schedules of volunteers.
• Able to sing and play guitar and/or piano/keyboard to lead worship.
• Able to lead worship both solo and with a band.
• Knowledge of updated audio/visual technology (ProPresenter, editing/uploading, in-ears, etc.)
