Job summary

Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Worship Pastor to shepherd the Worship Ministry in line with our church vision. You will lead worship, provide spiritual leadership, and supervise staff and volunteers across the ministry.

You will plan services with the Lead Pastor, direct weekly rehearsals, manage budget and ministry growth, and develop teams. Ordination or willingness to be ordained is required, with 5+ years of worship-leading experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Worship leading and supervising.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a certified institution; master’s degree preferred.
• Ordination required or willing to be ordained.
• Competent in choral/orchestral conducting.

• Plan, prepare and evaluate worship services with the Lead Pastor, including scripture readings and prayers.

Job description

The Worship Pastor shepherds and oversees the Worship Ministry of Hoffmantown Church in alignment with the vision and purposes of the church.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Functions as a God-called, qualified pastor as defined in scripture.
• Maintains a healthy, growing relationship with God, including but not limited to a life of prayer, worship, study of the Bible, and service.
• Provides godly leadership to the church and particularly to the Worship Ministry.
• As related to family, consistently leads as the spiritual leader in the home.
• Manages all recruiting, developing, training, placing, and evaluation of all worship ministry staff and volunteers.
• Cultivates a ministry that ensures that lives are being transformed and equipped for service for the glory of God.
• Consistently develops personal musical acumen related to vocal production, musical theory and forms, and musical styles. Also, develops the same if he plays primary and/or secondary instruments.
• Delivers complete, well-rounded rehearsals for the Worship Choir, Praise Team, and any other vocal ensembles on a weekly basis.
• Supervises the Instrumental Worship Associate Pastor, Church Pianist(s), Church Drummer, and Church Orchestra.
• Vets and is responsible for the content of all music, scripts, and seasonal presentations.
• Manages all interview and audition processes related to all participants utilized in the Worship ministries of the church.
• Disciples ministry members including emerging worship leaders.
• Meets regularly with the Lead Pastor to plan, prepare, and evaluate worship services focusing, when possible, on the sermon passage including all music, and other elements of worship (i.e. Lord’s Supper, prayers, testimonies, baptisms, and scripture readings).
• Prepares, submits, and oversees an annual Worship budget.
• Supervises all technical aspects of the Communication Team as it relates to worship music, all media (seen and heard), equipment, and worship center personnel.
• Participates in the weekly Pastor/Director Meeting, maintaining confidentiality of information related to membership, committees, councils, and staff.
• Supervises the work of the Worship Council.
• Shares in the Pastor on Call rotation.
• Evaluates all direct supervision of Worship staff with a yearly evaluation.
• Considers ongoing education opportunities related to music & worship skills and technical/equipment/media areas.

Education & Experience

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Worship leading and supervising
• Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field from a certified institution with preference to a master’s degree
• Must be ordained or willing to be ordained
• Must be competent in choral/orchestral conducting
