Job summary

New City Church in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a gifted worship leader to lead weekly gatherings, building a gospel-centered, Christ-exalting worship culture from the ground up.

The role is part-time (~10 hours/week) with potential to grow into full-time as the church grows. You will recruit and shepherd musicians, plan sets, and collaborate with the Lead Pastor to align music with Scripture and sermon themes.

Position Details

• Reports To: Lead Pastor
• Location: St. Augustine, FL
• Hours: ~10 hours/week, part-time, with potential to grow into a full-time role as the church grows

Position Summary

New City Church is a new church that launched in January of 2026.

We're looking for a gifted and skilled worship leader who leads out of an overflow of intimacy with Christ and wants to help build a gospel-shaped, Christ-centered, congregationally engaging, vertical worship culture from the very beginning.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape the culture of a brand-new church as part of an experienced leadership team.

Five Key Functions

1. Shape Christ-Exalting Gatherings

• Plan and lead weekly worship gatherings that are Christ-exalting, gospel-saturated, and Scripture-driven
• Craft worship sets with songs that are theologically rich, vertically focused, and accessible for congregational singing
• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to align music, Scripture, and sermon themes

2. Cultivate a Vertical Worship Culture

• Lead congregants on an ascent to the place of worship, not passive observation
• Model worship that is authentic, humble, and rooted in the gospel
• Display a biblical theology of worship to the church and team

3. Build and Shepherd the Worship Team

• Recruit, train, and disciple musicians and vocalists
• Lead rehearsals that prioritize both musical excellence and spiritual formation
• Build a culture marked by humility, unity, and servant leadership

4. Coordinate Worship & Production Systems

• Coordinate with the service producer on all musical and technical elements of Sunday gatherings
• Steward equipment, systems, and planning tools with simplicity and effectiveness, including set up and tear down.
• Welcome feedback and continual evaluation in pursuit of excellence

5. Advance the Mission & Culture of New City Church

• Embody and reinforce the distinctives of New City Church:
• Participate in the life of the church
• Help ensure that worship gatherings serve the broader mission of making disciples
