Job summary

The Facilities Craftsman at First Baptist Atlanta advances the church's mission by creating safe, functional ministry environments through skilled carpentry, woodworking, and repair. You will support worship, discipleship, outreach, and daily ministry operations with excellence and servant leadership.

Responsibilities include constructing, maintaining, and improving ministry spaces; reading blueprints; and ensuring facilities comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Alignment with the beliefs, mission, vision, values, and Statement of Faith of FBA.
• Current member of FBA or enrolled in First Class with intent to become a member within three months.
• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training in carpentry preferred.
• Commitment to FBA culture and safety certifications preferred.
• Five or more years of professional woodworking, finish carpentry, cabinetry, or commercial construction experience.
• Experience in church, educational, or hospitality environments preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in woodworking, blueprint interpretation, construction methods, and safe operation of tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve FBA's facilities through skilled woodworking and repair.
• Ensure ministry spaces are safe, functional, attractive, and ministry-ready.
• Design, build, install, and repair cabinetry, furniture, and architectural features.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Respond to work orders and support worship services and ministry events.
