Job summary

New Life Community Church in Aurora, CO seeks a Worship Ministries Leader to plan and lead weekly worship, recruit and shepherd volunteer musicians, and coordinate multi-ethnic services with the Senior Pastor and staff. Role includes rehearsals, lead sheets, and special services planning.

The candidate will oversee bands and vocal ensembles, nurture spiritual shepherding, and work with planning center and multi-track techs; Spanish skills are a plus in our diverse city.

Qualifications

• Committed Christian with exemplary life and calling to worship ministry.
• Understanding of the Bible and its use in corporate worship.
• Mature, submissive to Staff Supervisor and Senior Pastor.
• Ability to work well with musicians, tech crews, artists, youth musicians.
• Identify, empower and train musicians for worship ministry growth.
• Heart for worship and leading a congregation in praise.
• Familiar with contemporary, traditional hymns, multi-ethnic worship styles.
• Musical aptitude to lead congregational singing on one or more instruments.
• Recruit/train volunteer musicians; oversee bands and vocal ensembles.
• Proficiency with Planning Center and multi-track systems; willing to be trained.
• Spanish skills preferred, not required in a diverse city.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Worship Ministries of New Life.
• Plan/Lead Worship; coordinate services with Senior Pastor/Staff; lead rehearsals and prepare lead sheets.
• Coordinate special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Morning of Praise).
• Recruit, organize, develop and shepherd worship teams; schedule and mentor volunteers.
• Foster multi-ethnic, multi-generational worship; seek input from diverse groups.
• Meet monthly with Staff Supervisor and Worship Tech Coordinator for planning.
• Assist in worship ministry budget planning and participate in All-Staff events.
