Responsabilités

About CrossPointe Church

CrossPointe Church is a growing church of approximately 200 people with a small, collaborative staff. Our mission is to point our community to Jesus in all that we do.

We are seeking a Part-Time Worship Leader to lead our congregation in worship through music and to help create thoughtful, theologically grounded, and engaging Sunday worship services.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves the local church, enjoys leading people in worship, and wants to serve within a collaborative ministry environment without the responsibilities of a full-time worship ministry position.

The Position

The Worship Leader will work closely with the Lead Pastor and CrossPointe staff to plan and lead the weekly Sunday morning worship service.

The Worship Leader will oversee the musical preparation and leadership of the service, coordinate the worship team and related volunteers, prepare weekly service materials and technology, and help ensure that the various elements of the service work together cohesively.

The position averages approximately 12-15 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Worship Planning & Leadership
  • Collaborate with the Lead Pastor each week to develop a worship service that supports the sermon theme, Scripture, and overall direction of the service.
  • Participate in the weekly CrossPointe staff meeting (if possible).
  • Select songs that are biblically and theologically appropriate and that serve the congregation well.
  • Develop weekly worship set lists and musical arrangements.
  • Lead the congregation in worship during the Sunday morning service.
  • Work with the pastor and other service leaders to create thoughtful transitions between music, Scripture, prayer, preaching, confession, communion, and other elements of worship.
  • Help cultivate a worship environment that is Christ-centered, congregational, authentic, and welcoming.
• Worship Team
  • Recruit, encourage, and coordinate volunteer musicians and vocalists.
  • Maintain the worship team schedule approximately three months in advance.
  • Lead a weekly mid-week worship rehearsal.
  • Prepare musicians and vocalists for Sunday through effective rehearsal and communication.
  • Help foster a healthy, encouraging, and spiritually grounded worship team culture.
• Sunday Morning
  • The Worship Leader will be present from approximately 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. each Sunday.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Preparing and setting the stage for worship.
    • Coordinating with the AV/production team.
    • Conducting sound check.
    • Leading a brief final run-through with the worship team.
    • Making any final adjustments to musical arrangements or service elements.
    • Leading worship during the 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Sunday service.
    • Sunday morning is intended primarily as a final preparation and run-through rather than the primary rehearsal time. The worship team will prepare the music during the weekly mid-week rehearsal.
• Service & Technology Preparation
  • Build and maintain weekly service plans in Planning Center Services.
  • Prepare and organize song charts, MP3s, and other musical resources as needed.
  • Create and maintain weekly ProPresenter presentations, including song lyrics, Scripture, liturgy, and other service elements.
  • Prepare weekly Loop Community set lists and edit arrangements/sequencing as needed.
  • Coordinate with the individuals responsible for ProPresenter, AV/production, welcome, confession, assurance, and other service elements.
• Special Services
  • Participate in the planning and leadership of special worship services throughout the year, including:
    • Easter
    • Ash Wednesday
    • Good Friday
    • Christmas Eve
    • Other special services as needed
    • Special services may require additional preparation and adjusted hours during those weeks.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to serve the local church.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Scripture and the historic Christian faith.
• Have experience leading congregational worship in a local church setting.
• Be a capable vocalist and musician with the ability to lead a congregation confidently.
• Understand that worship leading is primarily about leading the congregation in worship rather than performing for the congregation.
• Have an appreciation for the integration of music, Scripture, prayer, preaching, communion, and other elements of Christian worship that is theologically thoughtful and informed.
• Be comfortable using technology and software such as Planning Center Services, ProPresenter, and Loop Community, or be willing to learn.
• Be organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple details and deadlines.
• Have experience working with and leading volunteers.
• Communicate clearly and work well within a small, collaborative staff.

Time Commitment

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 12-15 hours per week. The typical weekly rhythm will include:

• Sunday morning: approximately 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
• One mid-week worship rehearsal
• Weekly worship planning and preparation
• Planning Center, ProPresenter, and Loop Community preparation
• Worship team communication and scheduling
• Weekly staff meeting
• Preparation for special services throughout the year
• Weekly hours may vary depending on the worship calendar, special services, and seasonal demands.

Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications, with the range being $15,000 – $20,000.
