Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, Social Studies Education, or a related field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Course Instruction: Teach Upper School social studies courses, primarily focusing on World History and AP Human Geography, with potential for related electives or introductory social science courses.
• Student-Centered Pedagogy: Design and deliver engaging instruction that supports diverse learners while fostering critical thinking, spatial analysis, global awareness, and historical inquiry.
• Executive Functioning & Self-Advocacy: Support students in developing self-advocacy skills, academic confidence, note-taking, and strong executive functioning habits.
• Differentiation: Differentiate instruction, materials, and assessments to meet the varied learning profiles of all students.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with Upper School colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and maintain clear, timely communication with students, families, and staff.
• School Life Engagement: Participate fully in the life of the School, including faculty meetings, professional development, and community events.
• Advisory & Student Activities: Serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students and advise or co-advise student activities, such as Model United Nations (preferred) or Geography Club.
