Internship Program: Summer 2026

Role & Duration
The Treasury Summer Internship is a 10-week, full-time, in-person program in Washington, D.C. (May 26 – August 3, 2026). Interns rotate through three different Treasury teams, spending three weeks per rotation, and complete a capstone project presented to Treasury management.

Onboarding & Rotations

• Onboarding Week: May 26–29
• Rotation 2: June 22 – July 10
• Rotation 3: July 13 – July 31
• Capstone & Presentation: August 3
  Interns engage in weekly sessions with leadership, career and technical development workshops, and hands‑on exposure to Treasury’s functions.

Compensation & Logistics

• Interns are paid between USD 21.80 (net, non‑U.S. citizens) to USD 26.20 (gross, U.S. citizens) per hour for ~400 hours.
• Treasury provides laptops, office access, and covers visa sponsorship (G4 visa if needed)
• The internship is fully in‑person; remote work is not permitted.

Pathway to a Junior Analyst Role
Outstanding interns may be invited to apply for Treasury Junior Analyst roles, a two‑year position starting after graduation. These opportunities are competitive and aligned with Treasury’s departments (Capital Markets, Operations, Analytics, etc.).

Who Can Apply & Eligibility

Core Requirements

• Be in the second‑to‑last year of a 4‑year undergraduate (or equivalent) program with expected graduation between December 2026 and September 2027
• Be in good academic standing
• Be available full‑time for the entire 10‑week internship period
• Have no concurrent employment or internship during the program

Preferred / Distinctive Criteria

• Background or interest in finance, economics, quantitative analysis, data, or related fields
• Demonstrated skills in quantitative analysis, programming (e.g. Python), financial/economic data handling
• Leadership, prior internships or work experience, strong communication skills, adaptability
• Fluency in a second language is an advantage

Ineligible Cases

• Students in master’s programs or those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree are not eligible for the internship

The Application Process & Timeline

• The application link is made live (typically via Indeed) in September each year.
• Applicants submit a one-page cover letter, a one-page resume, and an optional half‑page personal statement.
• Completed applications are reviewed by a recruitment committee; some may take a remote test, followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates.
• Notification to applicants is made by December.
