Job summary

Amazon invites a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) to lead safety programs, investigations, and training at sites across the network. You will be the building's safety champion, partnering with associates and leadership to reduce risk while keeping operations efficient.

This role requires knowledge of OSHA regulations, 29 CFR 1910, and hands-on experience in EHS. You will handle audits, incident investigations, and emergency response, with flexibility for day, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Minimum 1 year in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related background OR 6 months safety role at Amazon.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personal issues in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety programs through data-driven strategies, including audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
• Deliver safety training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Advise associates and leadership to drive safety improvements and behavioral changes.
• Assist in emergencies and support site safety operations.
• Participate in incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
