Job summary

Base Power Company is seeking a Workplace Operations Manager for our Austin headquarters. You will own day-to-day HQ operations, manage vendors, plan improvements, and ensure the building runs smoothly so the team can focus on core work.

You'll lead space planning, conference room management, events, and space forecasting, partnering with IT and HR. This is a hands-on, in-person role with flexible hours to meet business needs at a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in workplace or office operations, including ownership of a site of similar size.
• Sound judgment and prioritization on what to fix now, what to schedule, what to escape.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations at HQ, including space planning, cleanliness, supplies, building access and maintenance.
• Select, manage and hold accountable the facilities, food and service vendors.
• Run HQ improvement projects from scope to punch list.
• Manage conference rooms, desk assignments, tickets and change requests.
• Plan and own events and onsite logistics for HQ.
• Track and forecast the HQ workplace space needs and vendor spending.
• Partner with IT and HR to support the Workplace team.

About the Role

The Workplace Operations Manager owns the day-to-day workplace experience at our Austin headquarters. This role keeps the building running, manages the vendors who service it, and delivers the projects that make HQ a better place to work. With your ownership, the rest of the team can focus on their work instead of on the building.

This is a high-ownership, high-trust role. You'll be the person employees, vendors and leadership turn to when something at HQ needs to get done, and the person who spots problems before anyone else does.

What You'll Do

• Own day-to-day operations at HQ, including space planning, cleanliness, supplies, building access and maintenance, and the workplace team at HQ.

• Select, manage and hold accountable the facilities, food and service vendors who support HQ.

• Run HQ improvement projects from scope to punch list, including lighting, conference rooms and organization.

• Manage conference rooms, desk assignments, and tickets and change requests.

• Plan and own events and onsite logistics for HQ.

• Track and forecast the HQ workplace space needs and vendor spending.

• Partner with other members of the Workplace team, IT, and HR.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in workplace or office operations, including ownership of a site of similar size.

• Sound judgment and excellent prioritization on what to fix now, what to schedule and what to escape.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• High level of proficiency using project management software, Jira and other workplace tools.

• Excited to be working in person and hands-on, from moving furniture to meeting a vendor at the door, with flexibility on hours when the business needs it.

• Experience with build-outs and a rapidly expanding company.
