Qualifications

Job description

Martin Transportation Systems has an opening for a Working Shop Foreman at our Kansas City, KS terminal. This position would be 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM. As this is a working position, the ideal candidate would have both managerial skills and experience, along with heavy-duty truck experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent use of Class 8 software for tractors and trailers
  • Knowledge and experience with the following engine systems:
    • Cummins
    • Detroit
  • Knowledge of different tires & cost of maintaining tires on tractors and trailers
  • Cost of maintaining tractors and trailers
  • Maintain and preserve proper inventory management
  • Effective communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills

Position Qualifications:

  • Professionalism in both employee management and customer service
  • Strong communication skills
  • Lead mechanic experience, minimum 3 years
  • Knowledge of compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations a plus
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement and success
  • Competitive and driven to succeed
  • High initiative, high energy, and high expectations
