Job description

Title: Working Leaderman (Structural)
Location: Fourchon, LA
Job Overview: A Working Leaderman (Structural) is responsible for directing his/her workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process.
• Performs tank testing and associated duties as required.

Experience

• At least Five (5) years of assembly/prefab structural welding/fitting experience. Prior supervision experience is preferred.

Skills And Abilities

• Basic knowledge of welding/fitting specific processes and techniques in addition to being familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction.
• Experience in structural fabrication and the ability to read/understand drawings is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, work well with others, and have the ability to plan/schedule craft-specific work tasks.
• Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed.
