Job summary

Eversource is seeking a Field Supervisor-Lines in Hooksett, NH to supervise underground and overhead distribution crews. You will oversee equipment, records, and tailboard processes while ensuring safety and on-time project delivery.

The role requires line-work experience, supervisory skills, and the ability to obtain rubber-glove certification for 34.5 kV. CDL-A with trailer endorsement and travel within MA/CT/NH may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to become a certified rubber glover of 34.5 kV.
  • Climb and work on poles/structures safely.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience supervising line crews preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise line crews for installation, maintenance and repair.

  • Train and mentor line workers on safety procedures.
  • Evaluate performance and initiate training or corrective action.
  • Coordinate work assignments and schedule crews.
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure proper staffing.

Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered.Role and Scope of Position:Supervise line crew(s) involved in the installation, maintenance and repairs of the underground and overhead electric distribution system and oversee equipment, materials, and record-keeping.Essential Functions:Supervises line crew(s) involved in the installation, maintenance and repairs of the underground and overhead electric distribution systemOversees equipment, materials, and record-keeping duties to include completion of time sheets for crew members as well as tailboard documentation.Trains, instructs, and mentors Line-workers to ensure that safety rules and procedures are followedEvaluates the performance of each crew member and initiates additional training or corrective action as may be necessary to bring performance up to standardRecommend promotions, demotions and discipline through proper documentationCoordinates and schedules work assignmentsConducts tailboards, and truck and trailer inspectionsEnsures all work is completed in a timely manner, on schedule, and within budgetProvides first response coverage to off-hour emergency trouble calls and investigates, corrects, and clears trouble. In the event of high trouble call volume, ensures proper staffing has been accomplishedAccepts standby duty responsibilities throughout the year, which consists of being available via telephone and/or pager during this duty; accepts temporary responsibility for Field Supervisor-Lines and Supervisor-Distribution Lines in the daily operation of the Area Work Center in their absenceWorks with emergency services, such as fire and police to accomplish a safe environmentEnforces Company environmental policies and procedures on each job siteIdentifies appropriate procedural methods; and make decisions based on analysis of informationWorks effectively with subordinates; superiors, interfacing departments and vendorsAnalyzes operational methods and develops improved procedures as neededInterprets Company policies, procedures and practicesPerforms the duties of a Line-worker I (RG 34.5)Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Technical Knowledge/Skill:Knowledge of and the ability to apply electrical theoryComplete working understanding of Company line work practices and policies is required.Ability to become a certified rubber glover of 34.5 kV. Employee weight limit for this position is 300 pounds.Must live within 30 minutes of the Area Work CenterRequires mechanical aptitude, manual and finger dexterity, Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions and climb and work on poles and structures.To qualify for the position an individual must meet the requirements associated with standby coverage, and provide such coverageEducation:High School diploma or the equivalent and a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Line-worker I (RG 34.5) is required.Experience:Minimum of three (3) years as a Line-worker I (RG 34.5). Supervisory experience is preferred.Licenses & Certifications:Commercial Driver's license (Class A with Special Trailer Endorsement) and a safe driving record is also requiredWorking Conditions:Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.Will be required to work overtime when neededCompensation and Benefits:Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
