Job summary

Shawnee Community College is seeking a Workforce Training Specialist to coordinate training programs for businesses, industry, and agencies. You will plan, coordinate, and implement customized training for area residents, small businesses, industries, and agencies across all college locations.

  • Support the Director of Workforce & Community Development with meetings and communications involving continuing education and workforce training instructors
  • Schedule and manage community education, continuing education, and workforce training courses across all College locations
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Public Information and Marketing to develop marketing strategies to promote all training programs
  • Organize and maintain essential program documentation, including course files, instructor credentials, and business contact records related to community education, continuing education, and workforce training
  • Responsible for tracking and processing billing invoices and incoming payments related to community and continuing education and workforce training
  • Prepare and maintain the inputs and maintenance of course and instructor data into the Colleges database system for programming and course offering for the Workforce and Community Development office
  • Ensure required contracts, schedules, and course documents are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
  • Strengthen professional relationships with potential businesses, industries, and community organizations to support workforce training and continuing education initiatives
  • Maintain supplies and inventory log for workforce training courses
  • Monitor budget for operational expenditures to ensure proper allocation of resources
  • Assist in compiling data for monthly, quarterly, and annual grant performance reporting
  • Generate regular reports of training activities and outcomes, and support the preparation of required institutional reporting, including monitoring reports
  • Serve as the Driver Safety Assistant, which provides information to participants, maintains records, and ensures up-to-date correspondence to the six-county Circuit Clerks offices
  • Maintain the colleges active membership and good standing with the National Safety Council
  • Receive, sort, and process emails related to the Driver Safety program and documentation in a timely manner
  • Track department budget, reconcile, and submit financial transactions to the college Bursar from the six-county Circuit Clerks offices
