Foster Success in Indiana seeks a Workforce Consultant to expand its workforce readiness programs for teens and young adults transitioning from foster care. You will deliver training, facilitate classes, coordinate job experiences, and connect participants with employers and resources across Marion, Lake, and St.
Joseph counties. Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Program Delivery, maintain records, support program evaluation, and ensure equity and inclusion in all activities.
Foster Success is looking to expand its Workforce Readiness work in Northern Indiana and is seeking a partner in the region to help bring our vision to life. Building from the success of the organization’s Workforce Readiness programming in Central Indiana, the Workforce Consultant will advance the organization’s mission by ensuring teens and young adults have access to a continuum of programs and resources as they transition out of foster care. Working in close partnership with the Assistant Director of Program Delivery, the consultant will help ensure that Foster Success’ programs are delivered with care, consistency, and equity. This position will facilitate workforce readiness classes and on-the-job training programs, develop work experiences, and assist in connecting teens and young adults transitioning out of foster care to employment and other resources. Through this work, the consultant will contribute to a culture of belonging and well-being across Foster Success’s impact areas and help young people build the knowledge, confidence, and resources they need to thrive beyond foster care.
Foster Success’s mission is to hear, support, and empower teens and young adults transitioning out of foster care on their journey to self-sufficiency. We are committed to improving the foster care system and ensuring that teens and young adults transitioning out of foster care are educated, housed, financially stable, employed, and connected to a support system by age 26. Our team accomplishes this through program delivery, policy change, and partnership developments in the areas of K-12 & post-secondary education, workforce development, health & well-being, financial empowerment, and youth engagement.

Demonstrates excellence in managing program logistics with an equity-driven approach, ensuring all participants have access to opportunities. Skilled in managing program logistics, including participant recruitment, scheduling, catering, participant reminders, budgeting, peer leader recruitment/training, and program evaluation.
Exceptional collaboration skills to build trust and rapport with program participants, colleagues, and community partners. Skilled in working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and expand workforce opportunities for participants.
Ability to create and deliver engaging career readiness training programs, covering essential workforce topics such as career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, workplace communication, and conflict resolution.
Demonstrates impact by maintaining accurate records, assisting with report preparation, and utilizing data management systems (e.g., Salesforce) to track participant progress. Committed to real-time, precise documentation to support program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
Deep understanding and sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by individuals with foster care experience. Committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for participants from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from foster care, to help them feel valued and empowered in their careers.
Ability to assess career challenges, develop creative solutions, and navigate barriers to employment. Skilled in identifying and connecting participants to relevant resources, support services, and training opportunities. Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and find solutions to ensure participants are being supported according to program outcome objectives.
