Columbus House, Inc. is seeking a Workforce Initiatives Specialist to develop employment pathways for homeless individuals. You will build employer partnerships, coordinate readiness workshops, and support participants with individualized career plans.

The role emphasizes collaboration with community partners, GED preparation, and vocational training through the Employment Enrichment Center. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of employment and workforce development practices.
• Ability to engage employers and match participant skills.
• Understanding barriers to homelessness-related employment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license with good driving history.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain employer and partner relationships.
• Coordinate workforce programs and workshops.
• Identify job opportunities, internships, and hiring initiatives.
• Coordinate hiring events and employer presentations.
• Support participants with individualized employment planning.
• Serve as liaison between employers and participants.
• Represent organization at workforce meetings.
• Advocate for equitable hiring practices.
• Stay informed on labor market trends.
• Ensure accurate documentation per policy.
