Qualifications

• Experience with MS Office and data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, assessment, and ongoing evaluation of participants’ needs and barriers.
• Develop and implement individualized employment plans supporting long-term goals.
• Provide ongoing career coaching, mentoring, and employment counseling.
• Monitor progress, follow up, and verify employment outcomes.
• Build relationships with employers, community organizations, and training providers.
• Research career pathways, training programs, and supportive resources.
• Maintain case notes and records in databases per program requirements.
• Prepare monthly reports and ensure documentation meets standards.
• Participate in training and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $41,000.00 To $45,000.00 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Workforce Specialist is a mission-driven professional dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve economic self-sufficiency through meaningful employment. This role provides comprehensive career services, including assessments, individualized employment planning, job readiness training, and ongoing coaching. The Workforce Specialist works closely with participants, community partners, and employers to remove barriers, build skills, and connect individuals to sustainable, full-time employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake, assessment, and ongoing evaluation of participants’ employment needs, strengths, and barriers
• Develop and implement individualized employment plans that support participants in achieving long-term career goals
• Provide consistent, supportive career coaching, mentoring, and employment counseling throughout the job search process
• Monitor participant progress, conduct follow-ups, and verify employment outcomes to ensure successful program completion
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with local employers, community-based organizations, and training providers
• Research and share career pathway opportunities, training programs, and supportive resources
• Maintain accurate, timely case notes and participant records in database systems in compliance with program and grant requirements
• Prepare and submit monthly reports and ensure all documentation meets organizational and funder standards
• Participate in required training and contribute to a collaborative, mission-focused team environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience in workforce development, case management, human services, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Knowledge of workforce development systems, local labor market trends, and community resources
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Demonstrated commitment to serving underserved or underrepresented communities
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with documentation and reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems
• Understanding of the social, educational, and economic challenges facing off-reservation American Indian populations
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

• Must have or able to obtain a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card within 90 days.
