Job summary

Global Kids, a NYC-based youth development nonprofit, seeks a full-time Workforce Programs Specialist to manage DYCD contracts, employer engagement, and participant enrollment for high school youth.

You will coordinate with NYC public schools, DYCD, and partner sites, ensuring program quality, compliance, and positive outcomes, while supporting youth toward clear educational and career goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, non-profit management, or related field.
• Experience and understanding of youth workforce programs.
• 2–3 years of experience with middle/high school-aged youth.
• Commitment to antiracist pedagogical practices.
• Solid understanding of NYC social service resources for youth.
• Experience with NYC public schools and Community Schools Initiative is a plus.
• Familiarity with local placement agencies and job developers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all DYCD contractual obligations and ensure targets are met weekly and monthly.
• Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with parents, community members, school personnel, and stakeholders.
• Conduct weekly audits during DYCD programming for contractual compliance.
• Manage recruitment, registration, and enrollment of program participants.
• Support youth in identifying educational and career goals.
• Complete required DYCD documentation via DYCD Connect.
• Oversee participant orientation and training workshops.
• Recruit, establish, and monitor employer sites for internships for high school youth.
• Lead weekly workshops on work readiness, career development, college readiness, life skills, and service learning.

Role Description : Global Kids’ (GK) mission is to educate, inspire, and mobilize youth to become global citizens who are positively engaged in the world and are prepared for their future. Over its 36-year history, the organization has engaged thousands of young people in its innovative youth development programs that promote global awareness and action, building their agency to affect change in their community and beyond.

The candidate will work in collaboration with the New York City Public Schools Office of Community Schools , Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), and the Bronx Studio School of Writers and Artists to provide high-quality workforce services to high- school-aged youth . T he candidate will oversee employer and worksite engagement, youth enrollment and job development, community partnership s , quality assurance and program compliance, staff supervision, and career service delivery. The candidate will develop, plan, implement, and administer departmental workforce goals and o bjectives , and ensure all operational areas align with Global Kids’ vision and mission.

• Complete the required documentation and submission via DYCD Connect.
• Oversee the development and execution of participant orientation and training workshops.
• Recruit, e stablish , and monitor employer sites to serve as hosts for internship placements for high school youth.
• Implement and conduct weekly workshops on work readiness, career development, college readiness, life skills, service learning, and student enrichment.
• Manage database/inventory of employment, training, and internship opportunities.
• Perform general administrative duties, such as maintaining records, managing database systems, monitoring payroll for youth participants, and performing basic bookkeeping.
• Collaborate with Global Kids staff and youth to generate new program ideas focused on global/local issues and aligned with the goals of Community School initiatives.
• Provide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) support to students and w ork with the PBIS/MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) staff to ensure that all students rec eive ap propriate ser vices a cross the tiers.
• Occasionally, participate in overnight and long-distance travel for events such as youth retreats and college trips.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, non-profit management, or other relevant coursework or re lated work experien ce
• Experience and understanding of youth workforce programs
• At least 2-3 years of experience working with middle school or high school-aged youth
• Commitment to and understanding of working in culturally diverse settings and using antiracist pedagogical practices.
• Solid understanding of a wide array of NYC social service resources for youth
• Experience working in or with NYC public schools and a strong understanding of the NYC Community Schools Initiative and goals is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

• This full-time exempt position has an annual salary of $ 62 , 4 00.
