Bechtel in Fairbanks Township, IN, is seeking a Cost Engineer to support the Maple Creek project. You will assist in establishing and maintaining cost data, develop budgets, allocate resources, monitor expenditures, and analyze trends to keep the project on schedule and on budget.

Responsibilities include preparing budgets, reporting costs, and presenting findings at project meetings. A bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years (or 6–9 years) of relevant experience are required.

Project Overview

The Infrastructure GBU's Renewables & Clean Power business line is executing the Maple Creek Combined Cycle Power Project, a new natural gas-fired generation facility designed to provide reliable, efficient, and flexible power to support growing energy demand. The project will be executed utilizing Bechtel's Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodology to drive safe, predictable, and efficient field execution through integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Startup planning.

Job Summary

In this role, you will work with the project team to assist in the preparation, establishment, and maintenance of cost data. You will perform budget development tasks, allocation, monitoring, reporting, and analysis. You will identify cost trends for management attention, support project organizational and administrative activities, and help ensure work is completed as scheduled and on budget.

Major Responsibilities

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, construction management, business or related field, and 2 - 5 years of relevant experience or 6 - 9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill in presenting scheduling information
• Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel
• Demonstrated skill in monitoring budgets / forecasts, and analyzing costs and commitments
• Ability to take initiative in project related tasks and coordination with various stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to ensure effective project delivery
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team atmosphere
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems
• Proficiency with Project Controls operating systems, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
