Summary:
This position entails managing the intake, investigation, and coordination of internal and external resources to achieve optimal results for workers' compensation claims. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional experiences to team members, field operations, customers, the general public, and internal and external business partners, while safeguarding the financial interests of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Assist in achieving optimal resolution for workers' compensation claims, including:
·Oversee claim intake to ensure all necessary information is received by the appropriate parties.
·Assist in the investigation and determination of claim causation, reporting findings to internal business partners to address concerns and identify potential safety training opportunities.
·Coordinate with adjusters to help secure evidence or data required to adjust claims effectively.
·Review adjuster notes and strategic action plans, providing established settlement authority and reserve concurrence to the Third-Party Claims Administrator (TPA).
·Take responsibility for the success, execution, and maintenance of the Workers' Compensation Return-to-Work Program.
·Supervise the administration of the Texas Non-Subscriber program as an alternative to Workers' Compensation.
·Identify possible subrogation opportunities based on the location or causation of injury, when applicable.
·Monitor the performance of cost containment partners programs, identifying program opportunities and solutions to consistently drive optimal outcomes.
·Request personnel files and additional wage information needed during discovery for litigated matters.
·Act as the primary liaison to injured team members, providing assistance in answering questions regarding the workers' compensation process.
·Provide updates on workers' compensation claim status to Operations, Human Resources, and other relevant departments.
·Assist the TPA Return-to-Work Coordinator in obtaining information necessary for a safe and timely return-to-work.
·Request workers' compensation physician panels from the TPA, as needed, and ensure they are properly displayed in the required facilities.
·Report performance issues within the adjuster team and address them with internal management and the TPA.
·Complete wage statements for TPA adjusters.
·Participate in and contribute to claim reviews with the TPA and broker.
·Assist in enhancing claim reporting to track various metrics across the claim program.
·Help manage relationships with outside counsel for workers' compensation litigation and recommend changes to firms, as needed.
·Occasionally address questions from field operations, accounting, and other internal departments regarding chargeback allocations for liability claims.
·Occasionally respond to requests for updates/status of liability claims from field operations.
·This position may require other assigned duties or project work.
Education and Experience:
·High School Diploma required, college degree preferred.
·3+ years of experience in workers' compensation or a degree in risk management.
Necessary Skills:
·Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
·Ability to utilize online claim management systems.
·Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
·Analytical skills with a strong ability to identify opportunities and develop solutions.
·Excellent collaboration skills across the organization.
