Job Title: Workers’ Compensation Specialist (Remote, PST Hours)

Job Type: Temporary (Up to 1 Year)

Pay Rate: Up to $45/hour

Start Date: ASAP — Flexible for the right candidate

Location: 100% Remote (Must be able to work PST hours)

Position Summary: A mid-sized organization is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to support high-volume claims management and integrated disability processes. This is a temporary role with potential for conversion based on performance and business need. The position offers full remote flexibility, though availability during Pacific Time business hours is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the administration of approximately 250 active workers’ compensation claims across California, Washington, and Oregon.
  • Coordinate with third-party administrators (TPAs) and internal departments to track and resolve claim activity.
  • Contribute to integrated disability management, including leave tracking and accommodation coordination.
  • Provide back-office support with potential to take on end-to-end claim responsibilities.
  • Help ensure claim volumes are in line with organizational benchmarks (within 5% of total employee headcount).
  • Assist in process improvements and cross-functional projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers’ compensation claims administration.
  • Strong understanding of CA, WA, and OR workers’ compensation regulations.
  • Familiarity with integrated disability management (IDM), employee leaves, and workplace accommodations.
  • Experience with third-party administrators such as GB, Matrix, or Hartford preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication, follow-up, and documentation skills.
  • Background in healthcare or multi-state operations is a plus, but not required.

Additional Details:

  • Work Hours: Must be available during standard Pacific Time business hours (typically between 8 AM and 6 PM PT).
  • Compensation: Up to $45/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Duration: Temporary, up to 12 months with the possibility of extension or conversion.
