Starr, a global commercial insurance leader, seeks a proactive Regulatory Compliance Manager in New York. You will lead Workers' Compensation regulatory efforts, collaborate with General Counsel and Global Compliance, and ensure adherence across multiple lines of business.

The role emphasizes market conduct, data reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, IT, and Operations to maintain regulatory integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of Workers' Compensation regulatory compliance and/or market conduct experience.
• Experience in a property and casualty insurance environment.
• Strong understanding of state rules across multiple lines of business.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
• Attention to detail with project management and accountability.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: ensure systems, processes and procedures meet regulatory requirements; be Workers' Compensation SME.
• Market Conduct: develop and implement strategies; conduct audits and assessments.
• Reporting and Data Management: coordinate regulatory reporting with Legal, Operations, IT; manage data for regulators (e.g., Medicare, EDI).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with IT, claims, finance to meet regulatory needs.
• Issue Management: address class code, premium, and loss cost issues; respond to regulators.
• Process Improvement: streamline regulatory support and audit procedures.
• Training and Development: provide training and maintain documentation on compliance processes.
• Job Requirements: bachelor's degree, 10+ years WC regulatory experience, strong communication.
