Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to support administration and oversight of WMATA’s WC claims programs. The role coordinates with departments, the Third-Party Administrator, and legal counsel to streamline claim processing and compliance.

The position emphasizes experience in WC laws across DC, MD, and VA, and collaboration with HR, payroll, and operations to enhance safety and return-to-duty outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of WC claims adjudication with TPA
• In-depth knowledge of WC laws for DC, MD, VA
• Advanced knowledge of WC coverage and compensability

Responsabilités

• Manages WC Return to Duty with various departments
• Assists in oversight of WC TPA per WCCM and P/I
• Delivers training on WC procedures, rules, and fraud prevention
• Liaises between WMATA, TPA, and counsel for claim coordination
• Provides access to internal WMATA data for claim adjusters
• Assists with invoices, wage data, PARP requests and procurement
• Analyzes claims for unsafe conditions and safety improvements
• Manages data in RMIS and TPA systems for coordination
• Represents WMATA as witness in litigated claims
• Audits WC TPA for compliance with WCCM and P/I
• Supports Light Duty program participation
• Answers questions about WMATA WC programs
