Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to manage claims from reporting to resolution, partnering with operations, safety teams, employees, and insurers.

You will handle WC claims across multi-state sites, support liability and auto claims as needed, review medical bills and reserves, and coordinate return-to-work with field personnel. Strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required; two

Qualifications

• Previous experience handling Workers' Compensation claims within the construction industry strongly preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience handling or adjusting Workers' Compensation claims, preferably multi-state.
• 1–3 years of experience with General Liability and Automobile claims, including reporting, investigations, processing, and reserves.
• Understanding of construction jobsite environments, field operations, and common injuries/claims in the industry.
• Comfortable communicating with field crews, project managers, superintendents, safety personnel, carriers, and leadership.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple claims and priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage Workers' Compensation claims from reporting through resolution and coordination with partners.
• Support General Liability, Automobile, Equipment, and Property Damage claims as needed.
• Partner directly with field employees, project managers, superintendents, safety personnel, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.
• Review claims documentation, medical bills, payroll records, payments, and reserves for accuracy.
• Participate in carrier and internal claims reviews to evaluate open claims and determine next steps.
• Coordinate return-to-work efforts, including modified-duty opportunities with operations and safety teams.
• Help employees understand Workers' Compensation benefits, requirements, and processes across multiple states.
• Maintain accurate claims records and ensure timely communication with everyone involved.

• 1–3yearsofexperiencehandlingoradjustingWorkers'Compensationclaims,preferablyincludingmulti-stateclaims.
• 1–3yearsofexperiencewithGeneralLiabilityandAutomobileclaims,includingreporting,investigations,processing,andreserves.
