Responsibilities

• Promote understanding and facilitate resolution of conflicts in workers' compensation claims.
• Explain workers' compensation laws, rules, benefits, and the claims, hearing and appeal processes to claimants, employers, physicians, attorneys, and insurers.
• Explain implications of various actions and secure cooperation of parties to submit required documentation.
• Identify conflicts between award limits and requested awards; encourage settlement when possible.
