Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range: $65,300.00 - $107,600.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Manage Workers' Compensation claims with lost time to conclusion and negotiate settlements where appropriate to resolve claims. Coordinate medical and indemnity position of the claim with a Medical Case Manager. Handle assigned claims of low to moderate complexity, focusing on return to work, medical treatment, and settlement negotiations. Handle claims involving surgeries, permanent restrictions, and possible litigation. Collaborate with internal resources to facilitate claim resolution and medical management.

What Will You Do?
  • Conduct investigations and assess policy coverage, contacting relevant parties to determine compensability.
  • Establish and update reserves, document rationale, and apply knowledge to determine causality.
  • Manage files with a focus on quality, timely contact, and proactive resolution.
  • Work with medical and legal resources to pursue claim resolution opportunities.
  • Negotiate settlements within authority, possibly using structured settlements.
  • Maintain required insurance licenses and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of workers' compensation claim handling experience or successful completion of the WC trainee program.
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Additional Qualifications
  • Analytical thinking, effective communication, negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance contracts, investigation principles, and legal and medical knowledge.
  • Ability to work within jurisdictional parameters and demonstrate technical understanding of workers' compensation.
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, planning, and organizing skills.

Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000
