On Call Counsel is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join our California team. This rapidly growing defense firm offers meaningful litigation responsibility, flexible scheduling, and a clear path to advancement in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

The role involves managing a full caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and WCAB appearances. Hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Experience in workers’ compensation applicant or defense side (open to strong litigation backgrounds)
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to manage a caseload independently in a hybrid/remote environment

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters from inception through resolution
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and motion practice
• Appear before Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards (WCAB) as needed
• Communicate directly with clients, including insurance carriers, employers, and third-party administrators
• Develop case strategy and proactively manage files to resolution
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in a high-volume environment
