Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a compassionate and skilled Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join its team. Location:

Duties:

Represent injured workers in hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board

Conduct depositions of medical professionals

Perform legal research and stay up to date with relevant legal developments

Draft legal documents, including appeals, rebuttals, summations, and memoranda of law

Advise clients on benefits, medical care, and the claims process

Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients

Evaluate and process new client intakes for potential representation

Collaborate with legal support staff to ensure smooth case progression

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Admission to the New York State Bar (recent graduates awaiting admission may also be considered)

Demonstrated knowledge of New York Workers’ Compensation law and procedures

Strong communication, negotiation, and litigation skills

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment

Compassionate and client-focused approach to legal advocacy

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar

Consideration may be given to recent graduates pending admission

Skills:

Thorough understanding of NYS Workers’ Compensation regulations

Excellent legal research and drafting abilities

Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction and negotiations

Well-organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases

Commitment to professional excellence and ethical standards

Additional compensation available for candidates with extensive Workers’ Compensation experience
