Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to support system-wide administration, reporting, and data analysis across Pennsylvania. The role focuses on investigating claims, coordinating with Medical Records and Payroll, and ensuring proper documentation for carriers and audits.

Responsibilities include gathering wage data, educating staff on supplemental payments, monitoring PTO, and maintaining OSHA logs and Return to Work processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant workers' compensation experience.
  • Experience coordinating with Medical Records and Payroll departments.

Location: Work from home (Pennsylvania) Shift: Days (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Worker Type: Regular Exemption Status: Yes Job Summary: Serves as system-wide support related to the administration, processing, coordination, and maintenance of Workers' Compensation. Responds to requests for reporting, statistical, and financial data to support the Workers' Compensation function.

Job Duties: Completes detailed claim investigations for Workers' Compensation. Gathers and analyzes pertinent criteria and advises on whether to accept or contest claims. Obtains information from the Medical Records and Payroll Departments to assure required documentation is submitted Workers' Compensation carrier. Coordinates gathering of wage information, educating employee and supervisor on proper supplemental payments. Monitors employee's use of paid time off and communicates directly with the Payroll Department and supervisors to ensure correct payment of Paid Time Off and Extended and supplemental time. Determines OSHA recordability of every work-related injury, reviews medical notes, Return to Work Instructions, and investigates the claim. Maintains the Federally mandated OSHA 300 Log and Summary of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses for all locations and entities. Monitors all Return to Work documentation from providers to determine appropriate completion of forms. Attends Workers' Compensation hearings as needed. Receives requests, searches pertinent records, selects proper informational material, or if indicated, determines other appropriate actions to be taken. Administered OCIP claim filings, investigations and management. Supports director with Litigated Claims/Files/Scheduling/Hearings. Work is typically performed in an office environment.
