The Claims team is currently seeking a Lost Time Workers Compensation Adjuster with a focus on Florida and other south-east jurisdictions . This is a full-time, exempt position with a remote work schedule .

POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for the investigation, negotiation and resolution of claims in accordance with policy provisions, best practices and jurisdictional requirements. Includes the input of claim data and guiding insureds and claimants through the claim process and options.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Work with some the following jurisdictions: FL, NC, SC, GA, and TN.
  • Work within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in claim handling.
  • Possess functional knowledge and skills reflective of fully competent practitioner.
  • Investigate, analyze, evaluate and negotiate personal and/or commercial lines claims of moderate complexity.
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of each claim, including informal hearings and small claims litigation and maintaining a high level of productivity, confidentiality and customer service.
  • Implement and coordinate the most effective management techniques to mitigate loss and expense payments.
  • Settlement and reserving authority levels are moderate.
  • Take recorded statements.
  • Work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate settlement.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Prior experience adjusting Florida WC claims.
  • Must have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster licenses and continuing education credits.
  • Typically has 3+ years professional experience.
  • Openness to learning new jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to make decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner.
  • Dedication to skillful negotiation in difficult situations with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations and case law.
  • Adaptive to new or different changing situations, requirements or priorities.
  • Cultivates an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Comfortability with operating with latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.
  • Sufficient home-based internet connection.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
