Job summary

BerkleyNet (a Berkley Company) in Manassas, VA is seeking an experienced workers’ compensation claims professional to manage claims end-to-end.

You will investigate injuries, set reserves, coordinate medical care, negotiate settlements and ensure regulatory compliance while communicating with claimants, policyholders and attorneys.

The role requires 3–5 years of claims handling experience and an active adjuster license; travel is limited to occasional hearings and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Investigate workers’ compensation claims by interviewing injured workers, witnesses and policyholders.
• Calculate and set timely reserves and manage reserve adequacy throughout claim lifecycle.
• Record demographics, job and accident information in the claims system and file state forms.
• Issue timely payments to injured workers, medical providers and vendors.
• Coordinate medical treatment to ensure timely rehabilitation.
• Negotiate settlements within authority with injured workers and attorneys.
• Serve as SME of the Workers’ Compensation Act and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and manage subrogation and recovery opportunities.
• Communicate claim activity to policyholders, injured workers and others.
• Travel to hearings, conferences and trainings as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent insurance industry work experience

AIC, ARM, CCP, or CPCU designation preferred
