Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of workers' compensation claims adjusting experience, or 8 years of claims handling with 3 years in workers' comp.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, investigations, reserving, case management, and claim adjudication.
• Ability to analyze medical evidence and make claim determinations.
• Experience participating in hearings, mediations, or settlement conferences.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and treatment review.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process first reports of injury and workers' compensation claims per laws and policies.
• Investigate and evaluate claims to determine compensability and entitlement to benefits.
• Administer medical-only claims from inception to closure and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Collect and analyze medical, employment, and witness information to support claim determinations.
• Review medical evidence to assess treatment adequacy, necessity, and return-to-work options.
• Document claim activities and maintain accurate records in the management system.
• Develop factual findings and recommendations to support determinations and benefits.
• Communicate with workers, providers, and agency staff on status and plans.
