FINITETEK INC. seeks a proactive Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney for our New York office to represent clients in insurance defense and handle hearings before the NY Workers' Compensation Board.

The role offers an opportunity to manage an independent caseload with mentorship in a collegial environment. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of New York Workers' Compensation Law, courtroom experience, and excellent communication skills, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement and ample

Qualifications

• Active license to practice in New York and in good standing.
• 2–8 years' experience in workers' compensation or insurance defense.
• Experience appearing at Board hearings and drafting appeals.
• Strong knowledge of New York Workers' Compensation Law.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in workers' compensation and insurance defense matters.
• Appear before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board for hearings.
• Prepare for and conduct medical depositions.
• Draft motions, Workers' Compensation appeals, and Section 32 Agreements.
• Handle third-party liens and Medicare compliance matters.
• Review medical records, employment documentation, and other case-related materials.
• Develop case strategies, participate in mediations and negotiations, and advise clients on case developments.
• Manage an independent caseload while meeting filing deadlines and court requirements.
• Maintain effective client relationships and collaborate with colleagues on complex claims.
• Uphold professional ethics and deliver high-quality legal representation.

The attorney will represent clients in insurance defense matters, handle courtroom hearings, and argue cases before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York and in good standing with the state bar.
• 2–8 years of experience handling workers' compensation claims and/or insurance defense matters.
• Familiarity with New York State Workers' Compensation Law and applicable regulations.
• Experience appearing at Workers' Compensation Board hearings, conducting medical depositions, and drafting appeals.
• Knowledge of Section 32 Agreements, third-party liens, and Medicare compliance.
• Strong legal research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently, meet deadlines, and provide strategic legal advice.
