Job summary

Supportwave in Madison, WI seeks a seasoned Workday architect to lead end-to-end architecture across HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits and more. You will challenge implementation partners and guide integration, data conversion, and security designs to ensure long-term, scalable outcomes.

You will chair architecture workshops with HR, Payroll, Finance and IT, providing clear technical leadership and governance throughout a multi-module Phase II deployment.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years' hands-on Workday configuration and solution design experience.
  • 4+ years as a Workday Solutions Architect, Lead Consultant or Design Lead.
  • Experience leading enterprise architecture discussions with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Workday Core HCM, Security and Business Process Framework.
  • Workday Integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio).

Job description

Join a major public sector Workday transformation where you will shape the end-to-end solution architecture across multiple Workday modules. You will provide technical leadership, challenge implementation partners, and ensure the platform is designed to support long-term business outcomes while delivering a successful Phase II implementation.

  • Location: Dane County, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
  • Work Arrangement: Primarily On-site (Remote considered for exceptional candidates based in the US with frequent travel to Madison)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm CST/CDT
  • Contract Type: Contract
  • Duration: August 2026 – June 2027 (Extendable)
  • Travel: On-site preferred. Remote candidates should expect 5–8 site visits during the first month, reducing to at least 4 visits per month thereafter. Travel costs are the responsibility of the employing agency.
  • Eligibility: Candidates must be authorised to work in the United States.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years as a Workday Solutions Architect, Lead Consultant or Design Lead delivering full lifecycle implementations.
  • Experience leading enterprise architecture discussions with business and technical stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills

  • Workday Core HCM, Security and Business Process Framework
  • Workday Integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio)
  • Workday Payroll plus at least one of Benefits, Recruiting, Performance, Advanced Compensation or Time Tracking
  • Data conversion, integration architecture and Workday security design

Optional Technical Skills

  • Workday Pro Certifications (HCM, Payroll, Integrations, Benefits or Advanced Compensation)
  • Public sector or government Workday implementations
  • OnBase or other Enterprise Content Management migration experience
