The Squires Group is seeking a Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead to drive an ERP harmonization program for a major energy sector client.

You will serve as the primary Workday SME for Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence, leading design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization activities with cross-functional HR, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, and Digital teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Workday functional experience with Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence.
  • Experience leading requirements, design, testing, deployment, and stabilization for ERP programs.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, integrations, and upstream/downstream impacts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across business and technical teams.

Overview

We are seeking a Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead to support a multi-year ERP harmonization initiative within the energy sector. This role will serve as the primary functional subject matter expert for Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence, helping align the organization’s existing Workday environment with a new financial ERP platform.

This is a remote consulting opportunity for an experienced Workday professional who can lead functional design, configuration assessment, testing, deployment, and stabilization activities. The selected consultant will partner closely with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, business stakeholders, Digital teams, integration resources, and implementation partners throughout the project lifecycle.

Per contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders.

  • Lead the Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence workstream for the ERP harmonization program.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Payroll experience involving acquisitions, consolidations, or migrations into an existing tenant.
  • Knowledge of unionized workforces, complex pay practices, or Canadian payroll requirements.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial sector.
Compensation
  • The compensation for this role as a consultant starts at $80/hour, based on experience and qualifications. This rate is subject to change.
  • Benefits vary by compensation type and may include paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, and additional optional benefits.
