Huron's Digital capability is seeking a Workday Payroll AMS Consultant (Manager) to join our growing Workday Application Management Services (AMS) team. This role is ideal for an experienced Workday Payroll professional who thrives in a post-production support environment and enjoys partnering with clients to optimize their Workday investment.

As a Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, leading complex Payroll support activities, troubleshooting issues, delivering configuration enhancements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep Workday Payroll expertise, strong North American payroll operations knowledge, and the ability to independently solve complex functional and business challenges.

Required

• Minimum 5+ years of proven experience implementing, configuring, or supporting Workday Payroll, with hands‑on ownership in a production or post‑production (AMS) environment.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a functional subject matter expert for Workday Payroll, including payroll configuration, payroll processing, payroll calculations, tax setup, garnishments, payroll integrations, and compliance‑related activities.
• Hands‑on experience providing post‑production support, including troubleshooting complex payroll issues, performing root cause analysis, and delivering sustainable solutions in a client‑facing environment.
• 5+ years of experience analyzing payroll and business requirements, producing functional specifications, supporting testing activities, troubleshooting production issues, and partnering directly with client payroll, HR, and finance stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of North American payroll operations, including U.S. payroll processes, tax regulations, payroll calendars, year‑end activities, garnishments, and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting ongoing optimization, enhancements, release management activities, and issue resolution as part of an Application Managed Services (AMS), Post Production Support (PPS), or managed support model.
• Experience leading client‑facing discussions, providing strategic guidance, and serving as a trusted advisor on payroll‑related business processes and Workday best practices.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• No travel required, unless requested by the client.

Preferred Skills & Experienc e

• Holds an active Workday Payroll Certification.
• Prior experience supporting Workday Payroll in AMS, PPS, or Managed Services environments, including Tier 3 production support.
• Experience supporting related Workday modules, including Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, or Integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Workday release management, feature adoption, and impact analysis for Payroll‑related functionality.
• Experience supporting medium to large‑scale Workday Payroll environments with complex organizational structures, multiple pay groups, and regulatory requirements.
• Prior team leadership or mentoring experience, including reviewing work, coaching consultants, and supporting knowledge transfer within an AMS delivery model.
• Consulting experience within a professional services organization supporting multiple clients simultaneously.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and client relationship skills with the ability to build trust and influence decision‑making.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $135,000 - $165,000 (USD). The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $162,000 - $198,000 (USD). The job is also eligible to participate in Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
