GEICO is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Workday Financials team. This position offers an opportunity to build from the ground up and influence the future. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and deploying various integrations using Workday core tools. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we shift from traditional IT to a tech organization focused on engineering excellence, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.

The Senior Engineer will be a key member of the engineering team, working across the organization to provide a seamless experience for customers while maintaining high standards of protection and availability. Our team succeeds in delivering high-quality technology products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, including Workday Financials, Integrations, PRISM, Reporting, and Accounting Center.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Manage system integrations within the Workday Financial system architecture.
  2. Support inbound and outbound Workday integrations, troubleshoot issues, and develop new integrations.
  3. Define product requirements and leverage technical skills to develop solutions.
  4. Collaborate across teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  5. Lead design sessions and code reviews to improve engineering quality.
  6. Ensure data and application integrity through analysis, coding, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  7. Translate business and functional specifications into technical designs.
  8. Design, develop, test, and support solutions using Workday tools and technologies.
  9. Develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration testing.
  10. Stay current with tech trends, participate in tech communities, and mentor team members.
  11. Mentor other engineers and share best practices to improve processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience developing and enhancing Workday integrations, PRISM, and Accounting Center processes within the financial domain.
  • Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST).
  • Strong technical skills in XML and XLST.
  • Knowledge of Workday development tools (EIB, Workday Studio, Report Writer, BIRT).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex integrations.
  • Proficiency in creating complex calculated fields.
  • Experience building scalable, resilient, and highly available systems.
  • Understanding of monitoring tools and concepts.
  • Experience architecting systems and solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of developer tools across the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently and collaboratively.
Experience
  • 4+ years of professional software development within the Workday Ecosystem.
  • 3+ years in architecture and design.
  • 2+ years with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Salary Range

$70,000 - $185,000 annually. Final salary depends on experience, education, location, and market factors.
