Job summary

Attain Partners in the United States is seeking a Workday Financials Data Conversion Lead to drive the data conversion workstream for ERP modernization from PeopleSoft to Workday in a higher education setting.

You will manage the data mapping framework, lead developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and readiness for cutover and go-live.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of ERP data conversion experience including leading a data conversion workstream or major conversion effort.
• Deep hands-on expertise with PeopleSoft Financials data structures, tables, extraction methods, and conversion tools across multiple Financials modules.
• Required experience supporting PeopleSoft-to-Workday data conversions with understanding of Workday data conversion and load processes.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and PeopleTools; working knowledge of Integration Broker is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of data profiling, mapping, modeling, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and data-quality practices.

The Workday Financials Data Conversion Lead will lead the Financials data conversion workstream for a higher education ERP modernization, supporting the migration from PeopleSoft Financials to Workday. This role serves as the primary client point of contact for Financials data conversion and is accountable for the workstream's strategy, scope, schedule, quality, risks, and deliverables. The Lead will direct the work of data conversion developers while remaining hands‑on in data analysis, mapping, extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.

What You Will Do

Workstream leadership

• Own the end-to-end Financials data conversion workstream, including planning, scope, sequencing, estimates, milestones, dependencies, quality standards, and delivery.
• Lead and coordinate the work of data conversion developers, providing technical direction, reviewing deliverables, resolving blockers, and ensuring consistent methods and documentation.
• Serve as the primary Financials data conversion point of contact for the client, system integrator, functional leads, project management, and other technical workstreams.
• Provide clear status updates and promptly identify, communicate, and elevate risks, issues, decisions, and cross-workstream dependencies.

Conversion strategy and requirements

• Lead discovery and requirements sessions with system owners, functional area leads, and business stakeholders to define conversion scope, historical data requirements, priorities, reconciliation criteria, and acceptance standards.
• Analyze PeopleSoft Financials data structures, schemas, tables, configurations, and business rules and translate them into a practical PeopleSoft-to-Workday conversion approach.
• Own the Financials conversion strategy, methodology, data mapping framework, iteration plan, cutover approach, and readiness criteria.
• Partner with Workday functional and technical teams to align source data with Workday business objects, foundational data models, load requirements, and downstream reporting or integration needs.

Hands-on conversion delivery

• Lead and contribute directly to data profiling, extraction, mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation activities across in-scope Financials domains.
• Develop, review, and refine SQL, PeopleTools queries, extraction logic, transformation rules, reconciliation routines, and repeatable conversion scripts.
• Ensure converted data is accurate, complete, balanced, secure, traceable, and compliant with applicable institutional and financial-control requirements.
• Coordinate with the system integrator during Workday load cycles, respond quickly to questions, and direct updates to mappings, scripts, and source data as needed.

Testing validation and documentation

• Plan and oversee mock conversions, unit and system testing, financial reconciliation, defect triage, remediation, and final conversion validation.
• Define data‑quality controls, balancing and reconciliation measures, and acceptance criteria and obtain appropriate business and functional sign‑off.
• Maintain complete documentation of scope, mappings, transformation rules, decisions, procedures, test results, defects, reconciliations, and cutover activities.
• Partner closely with Financials functional, integration, reporting, security, testing, and change teams to ensure conversion activities align with the overall implementation plan.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of ERP data conversion experience, including experience leading a data conversion workstream or major conversion effort.
• Deep hands‑on expertise with PeopleSoft Financials data structures, tables, extraction methods, and conversion tools across multiple Financials modules.
• Required experience supporting PeopleSoft‑to‑Workday data conversions, with a clear understanding of Workday data conversion and load processes.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and PeopleTools, including Application Designer; working knowledge of Integration Broker is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of data profiling, mapping, modeling, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and data‑quality practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical team members, manage workstream priorities and dependencies, and hold deliverables to defined quality standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations, facilitate decisions, communicate technical concepts clearly, and build trust across technical and functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, documentation, and issue‑resolution skills, with the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced implementation environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workday Financials conversions in a higher education environment.
• Experience across several PeopleSoft Financials domains, such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Procurement, Projects, Grants, or Commitment Control.
• Workday or PeopleSoft certification.
• Experience participating in full‑cycle ERP implementations, including mock conversions, cutover, go‑live, and post-production stabilization.

Salary Range

$165,000 — $190,000 USD

Attain Partners is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The individual base salary for this position is unique to each candidate and will be commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
