Job summary

Accenture plc is seeking a Workday AMS Functional Service Manager for a hybrid role based in Nashville, TN, Dallas, TX, or Atlanta, GA. You will oversee multiple Workday domains, manage global teams, and drive best practices in a complex AMS engagement.

You will lead client interactions, mentor staff, and ensure delivery excellence across Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and more, while contributing to solutions and optimization opportunities.

• Hands-on experience delivering Workday implementations with a certified Workday implementer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple functional work streams/domains on a Workday AMS engagement and act as overall lead for the engagement.
• Manage on- and off-shore functional teams.
• Lead the AMS engagement, driving decisions and best practices for Workday functionality (Core HCM, Benefits, Talent and Performance, Recruiting, Learning, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, Reporting).
• Identify strategies, risks, options, and mitigations to meet client requirements.
• Troubleshoot production break-fixes from triage through resolution.
• Implement enhancements and new features from discovery through deployment.
• Lead, mentor, and manage performance of project staff.
• Serve as single point of contact for the client and coordinate cross-functional resources.
• Advise clients on industry standards and leading practices.
• Demonstrate design options using prototyping.
• Understand and apply Workday and Accenture methodologies.
• Provide the client with status updates and keep them apprised of project status.
• Maintain responsibility for performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality, and requirements.
• Assist in the sales process including scoping projects and estimating efforts.

As a Workday Application Management Services (AMS) Functional Service Manager your primary responsibilities may include:

• Oversee multiple functional work streams/domains on a Workday application management services (AMS) engagement (e.g., function as the overall Lead for the engagement).
• Manage on and off-shore functional teams.
• Lead the AMS engagement driving towards decisions and recommending best practices related to Workday functionality including, but not limited to: Core HCM, Benefits, Talent and Performance, Recruiting, Learning, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, and Reporting.
• Identify strategies, risks, and options, recommend approaches and mitigations to meet client/functional requirements.
• Troubleshoot production break-fixes from triage through resolution.
• Implement enhancements and new features from discovery through deployment.
• Lead, mentor, counsel, and manage performance of project staff.
• Serve as a single point of contact for the client and provide direction to resources to ensure that all work streams are cohesive and cross functional impacts are considered and mitigated.
• Advise clients on industry standards and leading practices.
• Demonstrate design options using prototyping.
• Understand and apply Workday and Accenture methodologies.
• Provide the client with status updates and keep them apprised of overall project status.
• Maintain responsibility for performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality, and appropriate business requirements.
• Assist as needed in the sales process including scoping projects and estimating efforts to complete the implementation.
• Demonstrate strong client and stakeholder management to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure the client takes advantage of Workday best practices.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies and execute optimization projects.
• Support innovation through the creation of new industry leading methods and assets.

This is a hybrid role and will require three days per week in the office. Hiring locations: Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA.

Here’s what you need:

• Existing and up to date Workday HCM Partner Certification
• A minimum of four years of hands‑on experience delivering Workday implementations with a certified Workday implementer including experience managing cross functional teams
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years of work experience)

Bonus points if:

• 1+ years implementing Workday in a Lead role
• Active Workday Core HCM certification plus at least one certification in another Workday functional module (e.g., Recruiting, Advance Compensation, Benefits)
• Workday Project Management Certification
• HR knowledge and HR Technology experience in Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP technologies (preferably cloud based)
• Demonstrated commitment and achievement to delivery excellence and client relationship management
• Demonstrated understanding of the cross functional dependencies and impact to conversion and integrations
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, despite conflicting demands

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
