The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking an Accounting Generalist in Charlottesville to perform daily payroll accounting, banking, accounts receivable, and collections, ensuring the integrity of UVA's general ledger and Workday data.

You will reconcile accounts, assist with month-end close, collaborate with Workday/Finance teams, develop SOPs, and support cross-functional partners across Grounds. A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in finance or accounting are required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (education, training, and experience).
• 2+ years of financial/accounting support or similar work experience; academic environment preferred.
• Ability to carry out reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies; suggest process improvements.
• Technical skills: intermediate Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), familiarity with accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
• Hands-on experience with ERP architectures and Workday or similar platforms.

• Investigate and resolve variances and discrepancies in payroll accounting transactions.
• Process accounting entries for academic, medical center, and related entities.
• Perform reconciliations across general ledger balance sheet accounts.
• Support finance professionals across grounds with questions and requests.
• Manage collections processes, including communicating with customers and arranging payment plans.
