Job description

Purpose/Scope
To provide general construction labor tasks in an efficient and safe manner. The W2E Field Laborer will work as part of a W2E crew focused on the renovation, maintenance, repair, and restoration of existing structures. The W2E Field Laborer will take direction from the W2E Field Foreperson.

• Completes general construction labor tasks necessary for completion of W2E projects
• Takes work direction from erection crew foreperson or bricklayer
• May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson
• Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner
• Handles equipment responsibly
• Follows established safety procedures and policies

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Completes general construction labor tasks necessary for completion of W2E projects
• Takes work direction from erection crew foreperson or bricklayer
• May perform miscellaneous work as directed by the foreperson
• Uses materials and supplies efficiently
• Handles equipment responsibly
• Follows safety procedures and policies

Basic Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Experience with concrete or masonry construction

Other Required Qualifications

• Ability to follow simple and complex verbal instructions
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professionalism
• Ability to work from heights, including ladders and aerial platforms
• Ability to obtain union membership
• General knowledge of construction practices
• Ability to travel extensively (50% or more) and work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Welding certification
• Experience with precast or tilt-up concrete
• Experience operating concrete cutting equipment
• Caulking experience
• Concrete and masonry restoration experience

Physical Requirements

• Traverse uneven ground, lift at least 50 lbs., spatial awareness, climb on trailers

Work Environment

• All weather conditions, dirt/dust, noise from machinery
