Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada invites applications for the First Year Experience (FYE) Peer Leader position. Earn up to 20 hours per week supporting new students, guiding them through CSN resources, and engaging with campus programs.

Eligible students must have FAFSA completed, hold a CSN Student Employment Award, and be enrolled for Fall 2026. The role offers practical experience in student services and a path to develop leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for Federal Work Study at CSN for Fall 2026 (or 2026-2027 Academic Year).
• Positive attitude and public presentation skills.
• Completion of at least one semester at CSN.
• Currently enrolled as a CSN student in a Degree/Certificate program for Fall 2026 (or 2026-2027 Academic year).
• Must have good communication skills and ability to engage with students, parents, families, and CSN staff.
• GPA of 2.3 or higher; maintain 2.0 or higher to remain an orientation leader.
• Free from major time commitments during summer (May through August).
• Concern for others and ability to interact well as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Guide and welcome new CSN students to campus.
• Assist students in navigating CSN resources and services.
• Engage with students via CANVAS and social media pages.
• Participate in orientation events and Welcome Back activities.
• Conduct outbound calls to new CSN students for general assistance and referrals.
• Support CSN First Year Experience programming and registration events.
