Job summary

Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) seeks a Work Order Specialist to support operations across remote Alaska communities. The role focuses on accurate work orders, service requests, and field information, coordinating with Operations, Line, and Engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least five years in related work, including two years in electrical utilities, strong Microsoft skills, and excellent organizational and communication

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of related experience, including two years of electrical utility experience.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving, and analytical abilities.
• Service-oriented approach and ability to work with coworkers, members, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage work orders from initiation through completion with accurate documentation.
• Maintain logs, service requests, support orders, field notes, and as-builts.
• Prepare and track work and maintenance packages for linemen and technicians.
• Monitor construction work in progress and assist with closeout.
• Maintain inventories of transformers, streetlights, poles, and equipment.
• Assist members with service requests by gathering information and guiding the process.
