Job Summary:
Clinicians at ADHD360 will be part of a dedicated team committed to patient excellence, delivering treatment with passion, ownership, and commitment. The ADHD Clinician will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, formulating, and monitoring treatment plans. You should have a strong understanding of evidence-based practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting, providing essential services to individuals seeking support for ADHD.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate children and young people for ADHD, considering potential co-occurring conditions to inform diagnosis.
- Apply clinical judgment and experience to make treatment decisions, managing ADHD in children and young people.
- Exercise independent professional responsibility for diagnostic decisions within competence, with monthly supervision from Team Leads.
- Practice as a non-medical prescriber (independent/supplementary) to develop and implement treatment and titration plans, ensuring physical observations are obtained and reviewed (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse), in accordance with NICE guidelines and organisational policies.
- Support patients throughout their treatment journey, conducting regular follow-ups until stability and optimization are achieved.
- Perform patient risk assessments and review safeguarding needs alongside treatment strategies, being aware of responsibilities regarding safeguarding children in our care.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records on Chrysalis and associated clinical templates, adhering to professional record-keeping standards.
- Ensure prescriptions are written in accordance with legal requirements for controlled and non-controlled drugs, recording in the Chrysalis Log and following ADHD360 policies.
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to security protocols related to prescription security and management.
- Participate in regular supervision, assessments, appraisals, and team discussions.
- Report clinical incidents and near misses to your team lead, supporting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Complete mandatory training and clinical supervision to maintain independent prescribing status. Engage in CPD activities provided by ADHD360.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified nurse with current UK registration and PIN with the NMC (Essential)
- Qualified Non-medical Prescriber (NMP) with current registration (Essential)
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience working with children and young people (e.g., CAMHS, acute, or community settings)
- Specialist ADHD Nurse experience (Desirable)
- Ability to work unsupervised and independently within the NMC Code of Conduct (Essential)
- Expert understanding of pharmaceutical treatments for ADHD (Desirable)
- Ability to connect with and support children and young people
- Familiarity with EPR systems
- Willingness to learn and follow clinic standards of practice
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff, patients, and families
- Sufficient IT skills for remote assessments
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Professional approach aligned with regulatory expectations
- Excellent time management and workload management skills
