Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a PA/NP to provide patient care to employees aged 2+. The role involves scheduling, supervising, and performing complex procedures within scope granted by NC boards, with some travel to Winston-Salem sites. Day shifts, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, no weekends or major holidays.

Must have PA or NP credentials with NC licensure; 1 year of primary or urgent care experience; BLS/ACLS; strong communication and interpersonal skills; travel limited to Forsyth County.

Qualifications

  • PA: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; master’s degree preferred.
  • NP: Graduation from accredited NP master’s program; master’s degree or higher required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or urgent/emergent care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical team for team-based care.

Job Summary

Provide patient care services to employees and dependents (ages 2+) of a specific employer by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising, and/or conducting complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; independently participate in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of individual authority granted by the North Carolina State Boards of Medical Examiners and/or Nursingwith departmental specific credentialing from the institution. Required to travel to limited sites in Winston -Salem, NC (Forsyth County) Day shift (8-4:30p tentative schedule), no weekends, no major holidays

Education / Experience
  • PA: -Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, master's degree preferred
  • NP: -Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, master's degree or higher required
  • NP/PA: -Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or urgent/emergent care environment
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
  • PA: -Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License -Certified by NCCPA
  • NP: -Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license -Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
Essential Functions
  • Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
  • Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
  • Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
  • Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Perform and maintain competency for point-of-care testing as assigned, waived and/or non-waived, ensuring compliance with AHWFB policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines

Skills / Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a family nurse practitioner or physician assistant working in a primary care or urgent/emergent care environment
  • DOT FMCSA Medical Examiner Certification preferred
  • Current American Heart Assoc. BLS and/or ACLS
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to perform complex patient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Willingness to perform other related duties other than those described herein
