The company values integrity, innovation, and excellence, fostering a collaborative environment where employees are empowered to excel and make a meaningful impact within the industry.

About The Role

We are partnering with a dynamic Dallas-based marketing and communications agency to recruit a Web Development Manager. This role is highly hands‑on and ideal for an experienced developer who is passionate about delivering complex client websites from conception to launch. The Web Development Manager will take ownership of technical project delivery, working closely with clients, UX, and design teams to ensure seamless execution. While the position involves managing one direct report, it primarily focuses on technical leadership and project ownership rather than traditional people management. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in coding, technical decision‑making, and client interactions, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, responsive, accessible, and SEO‑optimised websites.

Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of professional web development experience, demonstrating a strong portfolio of complex projects.
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining WordPress websites, with a solid understanding of themes, plugins, and customisations.
  • Proven experience owning and managing complex, custom website projects from requirements gathering through launch and ongoing support.
  • Strong proficiency in Drupal development, with the ability to leverage its capabilities for client projects.
  • Excellent client‑facing skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with UX and design teams to translate creative concepts into functional websites.
  • Deep knowledge of web development best practices, including accessibility, SEO, security, and deployment processes.
  • Experience integrating third‑party APIs and platforms such as CRMs, ATS systems, mapping services, and other business applications.
  • Comfortable balancing hands‑on coding with client interaction and project management responsibilities.
  • Agency or consulting experience is highly desirable, especially for candidates who have built strong client relationships and owned projects end‑to‑end.
  • Experience working on B2B websites in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, technology, or professional services is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Own the technical delivery of client website projects from initial discovery and requirements gathering through development, testing, launch, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Remain actively involved in coding, primarily within Drupal and WordPress, to ensure quality and technical excellence.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their business needs, recommend solutions, and translate these into detailed technical requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with UX and design teams to review sitemaps, wireframes, designs, and functionality, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with project goals.
  • Make critical technical architecture decisions, including choosing appropriate frameworks, tools, and platforms for each project.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and priorities to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, secure, and SEO‑friendly websites that meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Integrate third‑party APIs and platforms, including CRM systems, ATS solutions, search engines, and mapping services, to enhance website functionality.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and support ongoing website maintenance, security, and updates.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the direct report, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Benefits

The company offers a competitive salary package commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Employees have the opportunity to work in a flexible and collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and development. The organisation values work‑life balance and provides a supportive culture where innovation and initiative are recognised and rewarded. Additionally, team members benefit from exposure to diverse projects across industries, enhancing their skills and industry knowledge.
