Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Construct and assemble cabinetry, wood structures, and composite components for custom signage and display systems.
• Assist with cabinet construction, assembly, and finishing.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, measurements, and work orders.
• Measure, cut, shape, drill, and assemble materials including plywood, MDF, laminates, and dimensional lumber.
• Safely operate woodworking equipment and tools (table saws, miters, routers, drills, nail guns, sanders).
• Build cabinets, frames, crates, supports, and structural backing per specs.
• Verify measurements and completed work for accuracy and quality.
• Use materials efficiently to minimize waste.
• Identify and communicate potential fabrication or quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow safety policies and best practices.
• Collaborate with fabrication, paint, welding, finishing, and other teams to meet deadlines.
• Perform additional production and woodworking duties as assigned.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Woodworking & Cabinetry Assistantto support the fabrication and assembly of custom cabinetry, wood structures, and display components used in signage and visual marketing projects.

Working alongside our lead carpenter and production team, this position will assist with building cabinetry and wood-based components accurately, safely, and efficiently while meeting OnSight’s quality standards and production deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Woodworking Assistant will assist the lead carpenter and production team with responsibilities including:

• Construct and assemble cabinetry, wood structures, and composite components for custom signage and display systems.
• Assist with cabinet construction, assembly, and finishing.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, measurements, and work orders.
• Measure, cut, shape, drill, and assemble materials including plywood, MDF, laminates, and dimensional lumber.
• Safely operate woodworking equipment and tools, including table saws, miter saws, routers, drills, nail guns, sanders, and other hand and power tools.
• Build cabinets, frames, crates, supports, and structural backing based on project specifications.
• Verify measurements and completed work for accuracy and quality.
• Use materials efficiently and accurately to help minimize waste.
• Identify and communicate potential fabrication or quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and established best practices.
• Work collaboratively with fabrication, paint, welding, finishing, and other production departments to meet project deadlines.
• Perform additional production and woodworking duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this position, candidates should possess:

• 1-3 years of cabinetry, woodworking, carpentry, or fabrication experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with cabinet construction and assembly strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and measurements.
• Experience with safely using woodworking hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of measurements, fractions, and basic shop math.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods while working in a production environment.
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to safely work around woodworking machinery, power tools, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to work in an environment that may include exposure to wood dust, noise, and other conditions typical of a fabrication and production facility.
• Ability and willingness to follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
