Menchey School of Music in Gambrills, MD, part of Menchey Music Service, seeks a passionate woodwinds instructor to deliver engaging private lessons to students of all ages in a supportive studio environment.

Teach one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or a 4-hour block on Saturdays, with full studio support, scheduling help, and opportunities to participate in recitals and performances.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of college-level music training or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in music education or performance preferred; degree candidates encouraged.
• Ability to complete background checks (initial and periodic).

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging private woodwinds lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
• Create a positive, encouraging, educational lesson environment.
• Help students grow musically and prepare for recitals.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff.
• Keep accurate attendance and lesson records using the scheduling system.
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm daily.

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and dependable woodwinds instructor to join our team at our Gambrills studio. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that truly values education.

One weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or one recurring 4-hour block on Saturdays

What You’ll Do

• Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels

Qualifications

• A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
• A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
• Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
